Ronald Eugene Macy “Ron”, 72, of Westfield Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2017, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Noblesville, IN on January 16, 1945 to Imogene Fisher Macy and Victor Macy.

As a young child, Ron enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

After attending Westfield High School, Ron joined the United States Marines and served in the Vietnam War from 1965 – 1969, where he earned several medals.

Ron lived in Texas for 25 years. During this time, he was the owner of Holder’s Pest Control in Bay City, TX for many years. He enjoyed being a board member in the Lion’s Club and loved serving in his community. Also, he was a member and held offices at the American Legion Post 45 and the VFW of Noblesville.

His hobbies included being a great father, spending time with family, swimming, hunting, fishing, camping, hanging out at the American Legion and VFW, playing shuffle board and just enjoying life.

When Ron moved back to Indiana to help take care of his parents, he met and married his wife Coleen Macy. During Ron and Coleen’s retirement, they enjoyed traveling to their 2nd beach home in Fort Myers, Florida during the winter months.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Roudebush Veteran’s Hospital in Indianapolis for taking such good care of Ron and his family during his last days. He returned home in Westfield, IN and spent his last days with loving care from his family in the house he grew up in.

He is survived by his wife, Coleen Macy of Westfield Indiana; three children, Christie Macy, Melissa Macy-Rose (Chris Rose) and Ron Macy II (Nicole Forrester); step-children, Bobby and April Lawhorn; grandchildren Nathan, Travis, Ashley, Colby, Brody, Jacob, Quentin, Christian, Rianna, Zoe, Mason and Max; brother, Bobby Langolf and sister, Pam Langolf. RON was a peaceful, loving man. His spirit will never be gone. His love carries on, very much alive in your hearts and souls to bring his spirit into the now and the future. During this time you will embrace this truth to lift him into Heaven where his example will, in turn, lift your spirits to the heights where he resides.

Melissa and Christie, I didn’t know your dad but you spoke of him often in such a positive way. He leaves a large legacy in his family. From reading his obituary, it is so apparent that he was a family man, a good soldier and very active in his retirement. I am so sorry for your loss.
